Attention providers who intend to provide physical, occupational or speech therapy services

The AIM Rehabilitation Program is effective September 1, 2022.

 

Recently, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and our affiliate HealthKeepers, Inc. shared with you our plans to transition medical necessity review of physical, occupational and speech therapy services to AIM Specialty Health_® (AIM),* a separate company, effective August 1, 2022, was delayed due to a technical issue related to Anthem’s Commercial members in Virginia.

We are pleased to announce that the technical issues have been resolved, and the prior authorization requirement for the AIM Rehabilitation Program will be effective September 1, 2022. The AIM call center re-opens today, August 15, 2022, for therapy services that are scheduled to begin on or after September 1, 2022.  Providers can submit requests for review or verify order numbers online via the AIM ProviderPortal_SM  24/7 or by phone by calling toll free 866-789-0158, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
