Reminder: New Autism codes effective January 1, 2019

Effective January 1, 2019, the American Medical Association is replacing the temporary CPT codes used by Applied Behavior Analyst (ABA) treatment services with new permanent CPT codes.  As with all annual CPT coding changes, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield and our affiliate Healthkeepers, Inc. will make the necessary updates to all claims and operational systems by the effective date.  All participating ABA providers will receive an additional notice, advising them of any changes to reimbursement or billing as a result of the new CPT codes once the final and official AMA documentation along with any CMS updates have been made available to health plans and providers.
