Reimbursement policy update: Bundled Services and Supplies — Professional
Beginning January 1, 2024, Empire became Anthem. This article, published under the former brand, now applies to Anthem.
In the July 2022 Provider News, Empire BlueCross BlueShield (Empire) announced that effective December 31, 2022, the Enhanced Reimbursement for Voluntary Cancer Care Quality Program would be discontinued, and the following codes would no longer be eligible for reimbursement:
- S0353: Treatment planning and care coordination management for cancer initial treatment
- S0354: Treatment planning and care coordination management for cancer established patient with a change of regimen
As a result, Empire will retire the Cancer Treatment Planning and Care Coordination — Professional Reimbursement Policy and add codes S0353 and S0354 to Section 1: Services and supplies not eligible for separate reimbursement of the Bundled Services and Supplies Reimbursement Policy.
