HEDIS Measure Tips - Weight Assessment and Counseling for Nutrition and Physical Activity for Children/Adolescents (WCC) 2025
Healthcare Effectiveness Data Information Set® (HEDIS) is a widely used set of performance measures developed and maintained by NCQA. To help you better serve our members and drive improved efforts surrounding HEDIS, we have compiled some tips and best practices. With your help, we can continually build towards a future of shared success.
This HEDIS measure looks at the percentage of members ages 3 to 17 years who had an outpatient visit with a PCP or OB/GYN and who had evidence of the following during the measurement year:
- BMI percentile documentation*
- Counseling for nutrition
- Counseling for physical activity
* Because BMI norms for youth vary with age and gender, this measure evaluates whether BMI percentile is assessed rather than an absolute BMI value.
