Ambulance Transportation - Professional

Beginning January 1, 2024, Empire became Anthem. This article, published under the former brand, now applies to Anthem.

Beginning with dates of service on or after September 1, 2019, Empire will implement the new professional reimbursement policy, Ambulance Transportation.  This policy allows reimbursement for ambulance transport and services and supplies associated with transport to the nearest facility equipped to treat the member.  The policy details services that are included in the base rate, services reimbursed separately from the base rate, when ambulance response and treatment with no transport is reimbursable, and when services are not reimbursable.
