Out-of-network referrals

As a reminder, when members are referred to non-participating providers in non-emergent situations or without our prior approval, a member’s out-of-pocket expenses may increase. Our participating providers are expected to refer members to other participating providers and facilities. We acknowledge that there may be situations where referrals to non-participating providers are necessary. For further details regarding in-network and out-of-network referrals, please refer to the relevant sections of your provider agreement.
