Members’ Rights and Responsibilities

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) is committed to complying with all federal and state laws related to member rights, and we ensure that our employees, contractors, and providers adhere to these laws when providing services to members.

In line with our commitment to participating practitioners and members, Anthem has included a Members’ Rights and Responsibilities statement within the provider manual and on the provider website. Delivering quality healthcare requires collaboration and a mutually respectful relationship between patients, their providers, and their healthcare benefit plans. One of the first steps towards achieving this goal is for patients and providers to establish a clear understanding of their respective rights and responsibilities in the delivery of healthcare services.
