Reimbursement policy update: Documentation Standards for Episodes of Care — Professional

Beginning with dates of service on or after December 1, 2023, Empire BlueCross BlueShield will expand the current Documentation Standards for Episodes of Care — Professional reimbursement policy to apply to facility providers. This policy outlines how and what elements must be documented for an episode of care.

The policy will be retitled Documentation Standards for Episodes of Care — Professional and Facility.
