New mandatory fields in roster template

We require medical doctors (MD) and doctors of osteopathic medicine (DO) contracted for association networks to provide the following information for rosters:

• Education type (medical school and residency)
• Degree abbreviation
• School name(s)
• Graduation year

All roster transactions for MDs and DOs must contain the four data elements above. This includes additions, updates, changes, and use of the full roster tab. By ensuring these mandatory fields are completed, the rosters can be managed effectively, maintaining the integrity and reliability of your provider network for members.

Where to find roster templates

We recommend using the Roster Automation Standard Template in Availity Essentials, as it will be the most up‑to‑date roster version and is compliant with any new market requirements. To find the roster template, visit https://Availity.com and select Payer Spaces > Select Payer Tile > Resources > Roster Automation Standard Template. Where to find the mandatory fields on roster templates

The fields on the template for educational type, degree abbreviation, education school name, and graduation year are required on the adds or updates tab. The education program name and education department name fields are optional.

When submitting changes using the full roster tab, ensure it contains the four required fields. Refer to the user reference guide tab for details and guidance. If a roster contains transactions for MDs or DOs on the ads, updates, or full roster tabs that do not contain the mandatory information, the transaction will result in an error and may not be processed.

Rosters that contain errors will cause an Error Report to appear on the upload roster page in Availity Essentials, and you will receive a message in the notifications tab. Once errors are corrected, resubmit the corrected rows of the roster.
