Change in precertification penalty

Effective January 1, 2025, Anthem may not impose a penalty greater than 15% on the provider or facility for failing to obtain a precertification/preauthorization. This applies to elective inpatient admissions and outpatient procedures that require precertification review.

The Commercial provider manual for Maine has been updated to reflect this new policy.
