Clarifying roles in healthcare: member rights and responsibilities

Quality healthcare requires cooperation among patients, care providers, and healthcare benefit plans. To support this collaboration, it’s essential to understand member rights and responsibilities. This information is in Chapter 15 of the provider manual, within the Compliance and Regulatory Requirements section. Please review it to clarify the roles of patients and care providers.

This includes but is not limited to authorization, covered benefits and services, and claims submittal.
