Advanced nurse practitioners as primary care providers for Medicare Advantage in Indiana

We are happy to announce that advanced nurse practitioners (APN) can now serve as primary care providers for our Medicare Advantage HMO network for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. 

 

If your practice employs APNs who support primary care physicians and wants the APNs in your practice to be designated as primary care providers to be available for member selection, please complete the Provider Maintenance Form (PMF) to begin the enrollment process. This change may require an updated Provider Agreement indicating APNs can be designated as primary care providers. Credentialing is also required for the APNs to be designated as primary care providers. Please update CAQH^® for credentialing to occur.
