Anthem’s contract with Northeast Georgia Health System set to expire September 30, 2019 if no agreement is reached

Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield (Anthem) is working to finalize a new agreement with Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) before the current contract expires on September 30, 2019. If we are unable to agree on a new contract, NGHS will no longer be an in-network provider with Anthem beginning October 1, 2019. This would mean that claims for services provided by NGHS and not included in continuation of care, with dates of service on or after October 1, 2019, would be considered out-of-network and reimbursed under the terms of the member’s benefit plan. We are in ongoing discussions in an effort to reach an agreement that would enable NGHS to remain part of our provider network after the current contract expires.
