Connecting your patients to programs for lasting recovery

Helping your patients get the care they need, when and where they need it, is essential to their long-term health. This includes care for their emotional well-being. That’s why Anthem offers a range of behavioral and mental health programs that provide treatment and care virtually and at home for the following:

  • Eating disorders
  • Mental health and substance use disorder
  • Addiction

Eating disorder treatment through Equip

Equip offers a fully virtual, evidence-based care program that’s customized for each patient. A dedicated team provides whole-person support and includes a therapist, dietician, medical provider, and family mentor.

Results show that:1

  • 81% of patients reached or maintained their target weight within a year.
  • 90% of families would recommend the program to another family.
  • Patients had a 50% decrease in anxiety and depression during treatment.

Substance use and mental health treatment through Aspire365

Aspire365 is a 12-month program that connects adults and adolescents and their families to a team of highly trained clinical professionals so they can recover at home. Patients have access to doctors, nurses, therapists and coaches, support groups, and wellness courses.

Program highlights:

  • Developed with Yale University School of Medicine
  • More than seven times higher success rate than short-term, inpatient care alone2
  • Reaches rural areas — for those in underserved areas

Substance use disorder treatment through Aware Recovery Care

Aware Recovery Care is a year-long, in-home treatment program offered at a cost comparable to a 28-day inpatient stay. A care team monitors daily the patient’s habits and routine, helps identify triggers, and provides accountability. The team includes a medical director, psychiatric provider, care coordinator, client recovery advisor, family educator, and therapists.

Program success:3

  • 79% completion rate compared to 32% in traditional programs
  • 78% of participants stayed drug and alcohol-free after 90 days
  • 35% fewer emergency room admissions in the 6 to 12 months after treatment

Treatment helps lower the overall cost of care

When patients’ emotional health gets better, they seek less medical care and costs go down. Those in our Behavioral Health Case Management (BHCM) program showed an average savings of $3,060 per year — or 16% in total costs,4 including:

  • $1,152 average savings on in-patient medical costs.4
  • $2,493 average savings in total medical costs for those receiving substance use disorder treatment. 4
  • 80% improvement in depression assessment. 4

Offering targeted programs that make it easier for your patients to get the help they need to lead healthier lives.
