2023 Provider Appointment Availability (PAAS) and After-Hours Surveys are coming!

Each year, Anthem Blue Cross (Anthem), along with other California health plans, conducts the PAAS and After-Hours surveys, which are administered to specific randomly selected network providers. The purpose of the PAAS survey is to determine if members can obtain appointments with their providers within the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) and California Department of Insurance (CDI) mandated appointment time frames. The PAAS survey is conducted to determine compliance with the availability of emergency and after-hours services. The After-Hours survey is conducted to determine compliance with the availability of emergency and after-hours services. Anthem contracts with a vendor to administer the surveys.

Sutherland Healthcare Solutions will conduct the 2023 PAAS survey scheduled to begin in July or August and continue through December 31, 2023.
