NPMH provider follow-up appointments

Effective since July 1, 2022, health plan networks must have adequate capacity and availability of licensed healthcare providers for patients undergoing treatment for ongoing mental health or substance use disorders. Furthermore, the California Department of Managed Healthcare requires health plans to offer members follow up, nonurgent appointments with a non-physician mental health (NPMH) provider within 10 business days of a previous appointment.
